Styromould Service
The traditional method or manufacturing moulds for vacuum pressing involves making formers out of solid layers or ribs of chipboard or MDF. Whilst these moulds work perfectly, they are time consuming and expensive to make, they occupy valuable workshop space, take up machine time (often on CNC routing systems) and can quite lterally weigh a tonne.

Bagpress recognised that the work involved in producing the tooling for vacuum pressing was oftern a big factor in companies deciding not to use the process at all and so we have introduced our new, revolutionary Styromould service. This service takes all the effort out of mould production because we make them for you using the very latest, state-of-the-art CNC hotwire cutting technology.

The mould material is an extra high density polystyrene foam and this means that event the very largest of moulds can be easily handled by one person. Styromoulds can also be easily reshaped so when you have finished pressing a profile you can send the mould back to us and we can cut a new one for you from the same block of foam saving you space, time and therefore money.

On the page opposite, Bagpress MD Darren King can be seen demonstrating his super human strength by picking up a mould measuring 1000mm in diamter by 1200mm long. If this mould was made of solid MDF or chipboard it would have weighed more than 350kg and would have required 48 x 25mm thick ribs.
